Depression can be a normal emotion that we all experience, e.g.: feeling sad and low, especially after a disappointment or loss.


However, when the severity is of the nature that it starts impacting your functioning in general life, it becomes a problem and you should then seek assistance.


As with depression, anxiety can be a normal emotion that we all feel in certain (uncertain) circumstances.

Again, it becomes a problem when feelings of anxiety interfere with your functioning (day to day living). This might be signs of a anxiety disorder and you would be encouraged to seek treatment.
